VIP yoga is a home based studio that allows for a more personalized and intimate setting to hold space for deeper development and genuine teacher-student attention. For this reason maximum capacity is only 4 people per class. RSVP is required and there is a wait list when each class reaches capacity.

Classical Hatha

Classical Hatha is a traditional, slow paced, meditative class that helps encourage proper breathing, flexibility, strength and vitality in the body while calming the mind. Because Yoga is a spiritual system with a physical component, this non-competitive approach helps the practitioner gain much more than just a healthy body. A typical open level class includes pranayama (breathing exercises), warm-ups including  Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar), basic asanas (postures) and deep relaxation. The focus is on mastering the basic asanas from which variations are then added to further deepen the practice. SIGN UP BELOW. 


Basic 16

Master the basics and build your foundation. 

This is a slower pace class perfect for beginners. The Basic 16 sequence of postures helps to calm the mind and relax the body. The focus is on classic postures and correct alignment in the body to build strength and create a foundation to move on to more advanced postures. Each pose activates and strengthens the organs, digestive, respiratory, and other bodily systems creating balance and increased functionality. Please note that there will be some inversions so make a note if you have neck problems or blood pressure issues before the class begins. SIGN UP BELOW.

- Glossary -

Asana -  is one of the eight limbs of classical Yoga, which states that poses should be steady and comfortable, firm yet relaxed helping a practitioner to become more aware of their body, mind, and environment. 

Pranayama -  is one of the 8 limbs, stages or aspects of Yoga. "Prana" is the life force within us and "ayama" means to regulate. Prana flows through thousands of energy channels (nadis) and energy centers (chakras) in our bodies. Pranayama is the regulation of the prana using the breath.

Basic 16 -  are the basic foundational poses that build the body to practice hatha yoga. Each pose has profound health benefits that create balance for each of the bodily systems. In practicing the basic 16 the body becomes prepared to move on to more advanced poses.
